Many municipalities lack reliable data on the condition of their road networks. The municipality of Glarus is changing that. Since March 2025, it has been using vialytics – a system that automatically assesses road conditions using a smartphone camera and artificial intelligence. As the exclusive Swiss partner of vialytics, Grolimund + Partner AG supported the municipality in implementing the technology and laid the foundation for modern, data-driven road management.
